YouTube Finally Responds To The Outrage Over The Logan Paul Video

It’s been a week since popular YouTuber Logan Paul shocked his viewers with an incredibly distasteful video featuring the body of a suicide victim hanging from a tree in Aokigahara, a Japanese forest.

The controversial video was heavily criticised by people from all around the world, and yesterday YouTube finally released a statement about it.

In one part of the statement, YouTube made no bones about the fact that the vlogger’s “channel violated our community guidelines.”

The hugely popular video-sharing website made their statement public via their Twitter page a week after the unfortunate incident had taken place.

The statement spans five tweets and seeks to empathize with those who were left angered and disappointed by the incident, and how YouTube chose to deal with it. Or rather, how they chose not to deal with it.

Renowned British YouTuber Kavos’ response to the situation has received much attention. Watch the video below to find out why Kavos believes Paul has just ended his career:

Astonishingly, Paul’s YouTube channel has not stopped growing since his indiscretion. In fact, According to the statistics, Paul’s received an extra 43,000 subscribers in just two days.

And despite the fact that the original video no longer exists, other YouTube pages have re-uploaded versions of the video back onto YouTube.

There is no doubt about the fact that YouTube is at least in part responsible for exposing millions of people to seriously distressing and perhaps in some cases traumatizing content.

In any case, YouTube kicked off the hotly anticipated response by addressing their viewers’ frustration that there had, until now, been no real response to the situation.
