06 Nov Woman Shares Her Naked Pics On Instagram In A Bid To Prove Nudity Isn’t Sexual

Pretty much from the moment we’re born, we are told that being naked is shameful. If we are dressed in relatively revealing clothing, we are presenting ourselves in a lewd and inappropriate manner.

Well, some of us are tired of incessantly being told that the bodies we are born into are somehow obscene.

The naked body is one of the most natural things that exists in this world, but sadly it has been tainted by our society and its conservative views.

In light of this, a 21-year old woman from the Netherlands has used her Instagram page to combat the stigma which has historically been attached to nudity.

And how has she done this? Well, simply by showcasing her own naked body in all its glory on social media.

Her name is Sterre and she has been travelling all around Australia baring it all and posting the snaps on her Instagram page.

The Instagram account a.naked.girl is covered top to bottom in nude photos of the bold, young Dutch woman with her back facing the camera.

In a bid to avoid any unfair accusations that the account was created for lewd intentions, you can see the backdrops were very clearly selected to highlight the natural beauty of nudity.

They were taken in a wide variety of settings including those with beaches and rivers, making for some very stunning photos.

The photos are anything but sexual, in fact they are actually very wholesome. Sterre’s aim in taking them was simply to divert attention away from sexuality and focus on the human body simply as it is.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Sterre talked more about what she sees as a societal problem with nudity.

“Being naked still makes other people uncomfortable. It is really a shame that not everyone can see the pleasure of being naked in a non-sexual way.”

Often body positivity campaigns take different approaches when it comes to normalizing the human body. Usually such projects will aim to combat body shaming through words of encouragement and inspirational quotes.

However, what Sterre has done is gone a step further to show that there is absolutely nothing wrong with celebrating what we look like underneath our clothes.
