18 Aug Woman Gets First Haircut In 30 Years For Wedding And Her Transformation Is Incredible
Women have always taken a great deal of pride in their appearance. Since the dawn of time, society has pressured the fairer sex into doing everything in their power to look as good as possible. The Victorians wore corsets that made it difficult to breathe, and these days, amongst other things, women are damaging themselves by using sunbeds on an almost daily basis. That’s not to say that men don’t feel pressure to look good too, but there’s no denying that women have it worse.
One of the most important parts of any woman’s appearance is her hair. Ever since I was a child, I’ve spent at least ten to twenty minutes each morning trying to make my hair look as good as possible. I’ll never forget the bad haircut I got during the summer of 2007. Like many teenagers, I wanted to drastically change my appearance, and I decided to get my long hair cut as short as possible. However, the pixie cut I received ended up knocking my confidence for years to come.
Society has conditioned women into thinking that they need long hair to be beautiful, and this archaic view resulted in a woman named Holly refusing to visit a hairdresser for 30 years. It might sound insane, but her dad had told her when she was young that pretty women had long hair, and she took his comment to heart.
The result of 30 years of no haircuts was far from pretty and, with her wedding coming up this fall, Holly decided that the time had finally come to get a haircut in April 2017…
