12 Oct Woman Creates A Method To Help Men Who Cannot Stop Sexually Harassing Women At Work
If you didn’t already know that sexual harassment was inappropriate, then let Harvey Weinstein’s fall from grace be a lesson to you. The film studio executive has unintentionally lifted the lid on a major problem that affects people in all industries, not just in Hollywood.
There will certainly be many high-powered bosses around the globe that will be sitting a little uncomfortably as more claims against the Pulp Fiction producer flood in. So to help those that are feeling the heat of the scandal, Medium writer Anne Clark devised a handy “hack for men who don’t want to be accused of sexual harassment.”
The hack, which Clark calls “The Rock Test”, encourages those who feel tempted to behave inappropriately to view their victim as Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in order to deter any disagreeable actions. Would you grope The Rock at the water cooler? No. So, why would you do it to the young intern?
The peculiar approach has gone viral online, with the original post having been shared 35,000 times in the wake of the Weinstein scandal and the recent allegations of sexual assault against Uber drivers. Clark is aware that her plan is highly unconventional and explains this:
“I know, this sounds weird, but trust me, this is a visualization exercise that will work wonders in your dealings with the women in your workplace. When a woman approaches you, just replace her in your mind with The Rock. Then, behave accordingly.”
If that wasn’t simple enough to understand, Clark elaborates with some helpful examples of how to implement the hack into your daily routine…
