Woman Bullied for Being Covered in Moles Auditions for Miss Universe

A young Malaysian woman who has faced a lifetime of bullying due to being covered in moles has auditioned to be Miss Universe. Evita Del Mundo, 20, who was born with the moles, which are large, dark and cover all of her body, is defying her bullies by going on a quest to be crowned the most beautiful woman in the world.

Del Mundo, who currently works in a local cafe, says she was often branded her as a “monster” and a “chocolate chip cookie” during her time in school, leaving her incredibly shy and lacking confidence in herself. Speaking to Elle, she describes how no one wanted to be friends with her and that she was incredibly lonely.

“It definitely wasn’t easy for me. I got bullied in primary school and the other kids would call me names like ‘monster’ or ‘chipsmore’, which was really tough to swallow as a young girl. In primary school, no one wanted to be friends with me. I remember a teacher having to ask two girls to accompany me during recess, and they were whispering ‘why do we have to treat her like a princess?’ It broke my heart. I told them that they don’t have to follow me and they went off immediately. Basically, I was a lonely girl.”

However, as the years went on, Delmundo began to love the skin that she was in and got her confidence back; she claims it all began in secondary school, where her mum was a teacher and encouraged her to socialise.
