At this point, it is no secret that Mariah Carey is a diva. We’ve heard stories of her sleeping with 20 humidifiers to keep her voice strong, buying out every seat on a commercial flight after being told she couldn’t fly privately, and even delivering her twin babies to the sound of her own song Fantasy so that they “could hear the applause as they entered the world”. While these stories appear time and time again to prove that she is the ultimate diva, rarely are other celebrities the source of the dishing.

That is, until now. In an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, actor Will Ferrell discussed a cameo Mariah was set to appear in on his new film, and why it didn’t happen. The House, a story of two parents opening a home casino in order to raise money for their daughter’s tuition, released on Friday with no Mariah in sight.

During filming, Mariah had agreed to a one-day shoot in which she would film a scene where she appeared as herself. According to Ferrell, it all started when the singer showed up late. In a game of true of true-or-false, Cohen asked, “Is it true she showed up four hours late to shoot?”, to which Ferrell replied, “true”, while smiling through the awkwardness.
