01 Aug Whipped Boyfriends Are Risking Their Lives In Order To Get Their Girlfriends The Perfect Photo
I’m going to bet that pretty much every active user of social media will have been affected by what is known in various online circles as ‘social media envy’. Every person has insecurities and moments where they feel distinctly inferior to other people in their lives.
And it’s hard not to be affected by social media envy when your timeline is practically bombarded with pics showcasing the seemingly flawless lives your peers, favorite celebrities, and old school friends are leading.
It’s everything from seeing your friend’s new status gushing over their engagement to an old coworker going into an (unnecessary) amount of detail about all the insanely cool things they got up to during their travels.
Taking the perfect shot for your Instagram page is hard work! Take a look at the contrast between the taking of pics to the what the pics look like when they’re uploaded:

Then there are the seemingly endless Snapchat stories featuring parties and events you weren’t invited to which only serve to confirm your fears that people just don’t like you all that much.
That’s why some people (and without sounding sexist, it is mainly women), will make it their mission to prove their lives are just as enviable as the best of them.
What’s more, these women have absolutely no qualms about using their own boyfriend as a personal photographer. I mean, if your boyfriend isn’t devoting a substantial amount of his time taking pictures for your Instagram page, is he even your boyfriend?
And thanks to the Instagram and Facebook accounts “Boyfriends of Instagram”, the most hilarious of these photos have been collated and posted for us all to enjoy.
As is clear from these pics, the lengths these guys will go to put a smile on their girlfriends’ faces is enough to make your heart melt, that is, if you’re not cracking up over how inherently ridiculous it all is. Because, without naming names, some of these boyfriends have literally bent over backward for their girls – no lie.
So, without further ado, here are 16 photos of boyfriends who have oh-so-lovingly made it their mission to take the best snaps of their girlfriend’s amazing lives.
1. I mean, someone had to take the picture
But what I really want to know is: who’s taking a pic of the boyfriend taking a pic of his girlfriend? Hmmm…
2. There are few things more impressive than a new mother multitasking
But how much more impressive would it have been if she took the shot herself. I mean, sure, she doesn’t have a free hand, but in the name of multitasking, come on…
3. Old couples certainly aren’t immune to self-centredness on social media
Perhaps she was just born in the wrong generation?
4. Just another unique and spontaneous beach snap taken by a loving boyfriend…
The longer you look at this picture, the funnier it gets…
There’s no denying the fact that we take our social media presence way too seriously. We could definitely learn a lot about having more of a sense of humor online from this woman. She has absolutely no qualms about making herself look ridiculous by creating parody shots of celebrity Instagram photos.

5. Wow. I mean if this isn’t love, I don’t know what is…
But laying in the gutter? Really? You’re literally giving people license to walk all over you…
6. Another super intensive workout… Well, for the photographer
It takes a special kind of dedication to put yourself in the situation where you’re literally hanging off a piece of metal.
7. I mean, surely, he’s risking his life…
But then again, what’s more important – a super adorable “pop your head out a moving train” pic or your boyfriend’s stupid life. I think we all know the answer to that…
8. Wait, is this what I think it is?
Have we stumbled across the first polyamorous “boyfriends of Instagram” pic?
9. Who wouldn’t want to take a photo in front of the Eiffel Tower? It’s iconic, it’s historical, it’s groundbreaking…
Oh, who am I kidding? This was never about the Eiffel Tower…
10. And here we have the classic wet hair flip
Sort of takes away from the impressive element, don’t you think?
11. This one’s actually quite painful to see…
You’re really telling me that this guy climbed a tree all so his girlfriend could post a photo of herself staring at a bunch of flowers on the ground?
12. At least this picture is sort of cool
I mean, if I was telling people about my totally awesome surfing vacay in Australia, I’d want proof too.
13. The guy who is prepared to die for his girl
It’s actually kinda romantic… like a Nicholas Sparks movie, only a bit more shallow.
14. She’s just casually scrolling on her phone
Nothing else to see here…
15. Well, I guess if you’ve got it, flaunt it…
… and then post it on your socials.
16. Personally, I prefer the boyfriend’s pose
I’m pretty sure he stole that from Kim K though…
In all seriousness, these shots are actually pretty cool. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to show your peers what you’re getting up to in your downtime, and if you have a willing partner-in-crime to help you do just that, then why not?
