Weddings are such momentous occasions, aren’t they? I’m not fortunate enough to be planning my own at the moment, but there are many brides to be that want their special day to be as close to perfect as it can be. That means an amazing venue, a beautiful dress and, of course, a spectacular wedding cake.

A successful wedding cake has to feed up to 100 people and provide the visual flourish every reception needs. They’re often designed and prepared well in advance, and as such, any unforeseen catastrophe on the big day can be disastrous.

That’s what happened to Donna McMahon and her husband Liam, who had prepared a special cake for Donna’s 28-year-old brother Scott, ahead of his nuptials the next day. However, on the morning of the wedding, Donna and Liam came across their Labrador Bella in the kitchen. She was happily chowing down on the wedding cake, and Scott’s big day was in adorable jeopardy.
