Do you feel like you’re having a bad day at work? Well, relax, because, in the grand scheme of things, your day can’t get any worse than this…

It takes a great deal of planning and preparation before you can simply demolish a building. So it’s safe to say that those working to demolish a 173ft silo situated in the town of Vordingborg, Denmark, were sure that their calculations were correct before hitting that big red button.

So you’d like to think. Just seconds after detonating the explosives, they realized they’d made a HUGE mistake.

Instead of landing in the intended area, which had been painstakingly cleared, the concrete hulk toppled over in the opposite direction. Landing with a crash on top of a library and cultural center, the decrepit building caused an alarming amount of damage.

Thankfully, nobody was harmed by the miscalculation, but the same cannot be said for the buildings in the silo’s shadow. It is thought that repair costs will be significant in order to restore the buildings to their former glory.

Fortunately, whilst insurance companies may be forking out for the blunder, nobody is paying for this incident with their life.

Meanwhile, an investigation is underway to establish just how it went so wrong. It looks like somebody is going to be having a very rough week at work! So sit up and drink your coffee, it could be a lot worse!
