As one of two people to successfully land on the Moon, and the second person to walk on it, Buzz Aldrin is perhaps one of the most famous astronauts of all time.

Apart from the legendary Moon landing in July 1969 that helped to define his legacy, Aldrin (who is now 87 years old) has also served in the United States Air Force, and helped to promote NASA in universities and schools across the country.

Around those more serious ventures, Buzz Aldrin has made quite a few appearances on television comedy programs, accompanying Homer Simpson on a trip to space and yelling at the Moon with Liz Lemon on 30 Rock. Aldrin has a sense of the jocular about him, and he displayed his sense of humour at the White House recently, where President Trump signed an executive order designed to bring a renewed focus on space exploration in the United States.

As Trump prepared to sign the order and addressed the gathered press, Buzz Aldrin decided to crack a topical Toy Story joke. Unfortunately, that particular reference sailed over the president’s head.
