13 Oct Video Shows Florida Woman Brutally Attacking Dog In Elevator
Cruelty to animals in all its forms is absolutely despicable and inexcusable. They’re helpless creatures with little means of defending themselves, and as humans we’re in a position where we can very easily take advantage of them. Unfortunately, there are far too many people who do take advantage of their pets, especially those that are incapable of fighting back.
These sentient creatures are just as susceptible to developing trauma-related anxiety disorders when harmed emotionally or physically. Assaulting a pooch, for instance, is no less horrifying than brutally attacking a small child. And it’s pretty alarming that so many of us think that the abuse victim has to be from the same species as us in order to fully empathize with their pain.
Very recently, a south Florida woman identified as 24-year-old Keevonna Wilson was arrested after being caught on surveillance camera, savagely abusing her own dog in an elevator in Aventura.
According to a police report, security workers at the Artech condominium, where the attack took place, notified the police about the attack after watching the sickening scenes unfold on the surveillance video.
The dog in question, named Chastity, is a very small and vulnerable nine-pound shihtzu-yorkie. In what made for utterly horrifying viewing, the dog’s owner was filmed kicking her pet relentlessly in the Condominium’s elevator. In response, the pooch can be seen cowering in the corner in absolute trepidation.
Soon after she was identified, Wilson was arrested on animal cruelty charges. “There’s no excuse at all to do that to a small innocent animal. None,” Aventura police Sergeant Chris Goranitis commented.
There certainly isn’t an excuse to inflict such a grievous amount of harm on an indefensible animal. But Wilson’s “excuse” makes the petrifying ordeal all the more shocking:
It was further revealed in the police report that Wilson began attacking her dog out of aggravation because she had urinated in the elevator.
Chastity was taken away from her tormentor by Miami-Dade Animal Services investigators and has since been undergoing medical treatment.
Thankfully, her medical report seemed to suggest that her overall health was good, however, when vets examined her abdomen and lower back, it was clear that she was still in a lot of pain. She had a number of bruises around her abdomen and her ears, but is expected to make a full recovery.
