Victoria’s Secret Models Are Captured On Video Singing The N-Word

A short video of a group of Victoria’s Secret models has surfaced online and made a lot of people very angry. But what could a group of tall, slender ladies in heels do to offend millions of people worldwide? Aside from being ridiculously beautiful, of course.

Well, the models are captured singing the most offensive word in the history of humankind: the N-word.

Bizarrely enough, the video wasn’t uploaded by an outsider, but by one of their own – 25-year-old model Karlie Kloss. However, the moment the models actually sing the N-word appears to have been removed from the video which Kloss uploaded to Twitter.

It was taken backstage at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Shanghai on Wednesday and features a number of the so-called Victoria’s Secret Angels singing the words to the popular song ‘Bodak Yellow’ by Florida rapper Cardi B.

One of the lines that the models are caught singing in the video is, “I don’t wanna choose and I’m quick to cut a n***** off”.

Now although this is a line in a song, and the models clearly aren’t using the taboo word in a derogatory context, people who are not black are usually condemned for using the N-word in any context. This is because of the violent history attached to it.

To say people had a bone to pick with the models after viewing the controversial video would be an understatement.

“Welp @VictoriasSecret plz fire all of them for saying the N-word all carefree #thanks (sic),” wrote Jasmyn Lawson.

Many of them pointed out that there was not one single black model amongst those who had the audacity sing the racial slur.

“If you’re not black, don’t say the N word (sic). Point. Blank. Period,” @insatiablevices tweeted. “So who said it?”

Interestingly, Cardi B, whose song the models can be heard singing in the video, has also weighed in on the heated discussion. She retweeted the controversial clip to her 1.71 million followers and wrote, “All these b*tches said n*gga, too.”

This controversial video has arisen at a time when Victoria’s Secret has been plagued by scandal. In fact, a number of their models (including Gigi Hadid) were denied Chinese visas just a week before the filming of the first Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was supposed to take place in Shanghai.

Watch the video below and ask yourself if it is ever appropriate for people who aren’t black to use the N-word, even if it’s not in a derogatory context:
