15 Jan Victoria Beckham Slammed By Fans For Using An Alarmingly Thin Model In Campaign
Victoria Beckham is no stranger to comments regarding weight. The waif-like singer turned fashion designer has been the target of many cruel campaigns which have branded her ‘anorexic’ and ‘unhealthy’.
The media’s preoccupation with Beckham’s weight has ensured that the former Spice Girl is always making headlines. However, this time it is not Victoria’s own weight which is attracting a lot of attention.
The 43-year-old mother-of-four, who previously admitted that she struggled with an eating disorder, is under fire for using scarily skinny models in the advertising campaigns for her fashion label.
The outrage began after two photographs of Lithuanian model, Giedre Dukauskaite were published on Beckham’s Facebook page. The shots in question advertise Beckham’s Spring/Summer 2018 eyewear collection, but it wasn’t the large ’70s style frames that people saw.
Instead, they were too distracted by Dukauskaite’s weight.
In the photographs, the 29-year-old model looks stylish in a pair of pink trousers paired with a large silk shirt and red shoes. Of course, the shoot centers around the “retro” glasses – priced at a $364 – which are advertised as “feathery-light, fresh and modern.” However, it was the “feathery-light” frame of the model which was of more interest to her three million Facebook fans.
