Imagine the moment you find out that your mother was one-fifth of the most successful British girl band ever to exist. It would certainly Spice Up your life, to say the least, right?

My mum is a hairdresser who lives the quiet life in the English countryside, often enjoying a good historical documentary and occasionally indulging in a cheeky glass of wine if she’s feeling particularly crazy. I’m fairly certain that she doesn’t have a sordid past as a member of a bad-ass 90s pop band, spreading the good word of girl power while wearing a notoriously tiny Union Jack mini dress. At least I’d be pretty shocked to find out otherwise.

But crazier things have happened, as Harper Beckham will tell you. In fact, just this past weekend the six-year-old found out that her mum, Victoria Beckham, was a Spice Girl in the most adorable way possible.
