20 Jul Two New Harry Potter Books Are Set To Be Released This October

It’s coming up to the tenth anniversary of the release of the very last Harry Potter novel, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. If you’re a major Harry Potter fan like I am, then the last 10 years have probably felt pretty bittersweet. I miss the days of fevered speculation about an upcoming installment, the times when you would queue around the block at your local bookstore when a new novel was coming out, or camp out there overnight so you could get a copy before they were out of stock. Seems crazy nowadays.

Since then, even though Harry’s adventures are technically at an end, the wizarding world has been as busy as ever. We’ve seen the opening of the Harry Potter world in Universal Studios, as well as the Warner Bros. studio tour in London. A new movie franchise has been established – Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them – and we’ve seen a stage play tour London’s West End – Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

But despite all that, it still feels like something’s missing. I don’t know about you guys, but I miss the old days when there would be a new book. That feeling of rushing home and curling up somewhere cosy, opening it up and falling between the pages for hours at a time; that’s a truly immersive experience. That’s something that no movie, video game, theme park or stage play is capable of recreating. That’s why the franchise boasts so many millions of ardent, passionate fans.

So that’s why the following news is likely to make all you Potter fans very happy bunnies indeed. Bloomsbury, the publisher responsible for all Potter-related material, has announced that two new titles are going to be released, and will make their official debut at the Harry Potter exhibition at the British Library in October 2017.
