Well, that was until two new Harry Potter books were announced to mark the 20th anniversary of the book that started it all, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (Sorcerer’s Stone in America). Hold on to your cloak, this is going to have you shouting “MERLINS BEARD!”…

In 1997, the world of Harry Potter was exposed to all by the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. It was an instant success, with over 400 million copies sold to date. The world of Harry Potter quickly expanded into more best-selling books and then a film franchise.

So, when this all came to an end in 2011 with the final film instalment, the world was left with a gaping hole that craved magic. Luckily, J.K. Rowling had a trick up her sleeve…

The world of Harry Potter may seem to have flown by, quicker than the Knight Bus when driven by Ernie, but there is plenty more in the pipeline (Basilisk pun not intended).

First of all, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them stormed the box office in 2016. The film, adapted from Rowling’s 2001 book of the same name, re-ignited the love for the wizarding world. In addition, there is the eternally sold out stage production of Harry Potter and the Curious Child, which explores the lives of the children of the main characters in the original series.

But now, there are two more books set for release in October to further excite you…

You don’t need to be a book addict like Hermione to find this latest release terrifically exciting. But, it certainly does help!
