Over the last few years, support of law enforcement from the public has been dwindling. In the wake of recent events, tensions between the police and those from ethnic minority backgrounds have practically soared.

And this is a pattern which has spread across many communities in the US – citizens all over the country feel let down by the police and have grown increasingly skeptical.

Back in 2016, ABC News reported that in some parts of the country, officers are required to work in pairs to protect themselves from potential violence from the public:

Of course, it would be unfair to paint all police officers with the same brush, and one cop felt the need to draw attention to this seemingly obvious fact.

Police officer Brittany Beard Hilton from Texas has received her fair share of online threats, some even going as far as to say that she deserves to be shot just for being a cop.

But rather than wallow in self-pity, Brittany says she prays for the people who feel the need to unnecessarily spew negativity.
