Optical illusions are simultaneously the most entertaining and most frustrating thing. The hours I’ve spent looking through these visual puzzles, often finding entire books dedicated to the confusing spectacles wherever I could, is time I could have used much more productively.

Literal optical illusions create images that are different from the objects that make them, physiological are the effects of excessive stimulation of a certain type, and cognitive are the result of unconscious interference.
