This Mom Helped Her Son Dress Up Like A Drag Queen And The Internet Is Loving It

I think that it’s safe to say that RuPaul’s drag race has taken the world by storm. The popular reality television contest revolves around RuPaul’s search for the next drag “superstar”. The sassiness of the show’s queens coupled with RuPaul’s amusing scathing remarks has won the show a legion of devoted fans – bringing it up to its ninth season. The show has also done something more profound: shone a spotlight on the esoteric drag subculture and brought it into the mainstream. This naturally preaches a message of tolerance for the LGBTQ community which continues to face prejudice well into 2017. As RuPaul says at the end of every episode, “if you can’t love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love somebody else?”.

Virtual assistant and author Mikli Feria Jorge was lauded on social media this week for her epic response to her son’s request to dress up as a drag queen. She certainly shows how parenting should be done.
