This Is Why You Should Never Have You Feet On The Dashboard Of Your Car

We’re all guilty of doing it every now and then, but it has emerged that putting your feet on the dashboard of a car is really not a good idea. Sometimes you can’t help it though, can you? If you’re road tripping on a hot summer’s day, there’s nothing better than putting the windows down (or roof, if you’re lucky), putting your feet on the dash, and cranking up the tunes, as the wind blows through your hair. Not only is it super comfy, it’s also great for Instagram, which is the most important thing, isn’t it?

However, while an image of your beaten up Converse on the dash of your car may rack up the likes in Instagram, it’s also very dangerous, as one unlucky woman found out.

Audra Tatum, a mother of three from Walker County, Georgia, was the unlucky woman in question. Tatum says that she would always ride in the passenger seat of the car with her feet on the dashboard, as she didn’t see the danger, despite repeated warnings from her husband.

“All my life I had my legs crossed and my foot on the dashboard,” she told CBS News. “My husband always told me, ‘You’re going to get in a wreck someday, and you’re going to break your legs.’”

“I’ll put my foot down in time,” Tatum would always say.

However, on August 2 2015, Tatum found out her reactions were not as razor sharp as she initially thought. Tatum and her husband were on their way to her folks’ house when a car flew in front of them, causing them to T-bone him.
