Ever since the days of Wilbur and Orville Wright all the way back in the early 20th century, the marvel of air travel has come on leaps and bounds. A hundred years ago, humans travelled to far-away nations by train or ship, but with the advent of air travel, we can make immense journeys in a matter of hours. Now, plane technology nears perfection, and like most technological marvels, perhaps it was only a matter of time before people started incorporating them into their sex lives.

The “Mile-High Club” is a worn trope in many air-themed movies; the likes of Soul Plane, Snakes on a Plane or Airplane II: The Sequel, all have scenes when people attempt to get their jollies aboard a flying airplane. In all those films, the act always goes badly awry, and the idea of getting it on in a cramped, germ-infested bathroom 30,000 feet in the air sounds pretty much like my worst nightmare. Once again, though, science is here to prove me wrong. Here are a few indications that airplane sex could actually be sort of fun.
