This Barista Refused To Serve A Man That Was Trying To Buy Food For A Homeless Person

Some advice that I have frequently been given, and acted upon on the odd occasion, is giving food to the homeless.

Rather than donating your change to those living on the streets, giving them some water and a sandwich is a good way to ensure that they get what they need, without the money being diverted in any way. A small proportion of homeless people may be addicted to alcohol or drugs, which your money may inadvertently go towards, or the money itself could be lost or stolen by someone else.

When you take the time out of your day to buy something to keep a homeless man or woman going, you would expect the only obstacles to be a queue in your eatery of choice, rather than any resistance from those selling their products to you. Yet shockingly, one customer faced such a refusal in a Costa Coffee in London.

After meeting a homeless man outside of Waterloo Station, Adrian Pinsent decided to buy him some food and a drink inside the train station, but after his new comrade had pointed out what he wanted, the member of staff serving them refused to serve them.
