24 Jun These Dogs Dressed Up For A Very Special, Fancy Masquerade Ball

On June 17, the Humane Rescue Alliance held their annual Bark Ball, a fundraising event that brings the movers and shakers of Washington DC together, along with their canine companions. Through a night of wining and dining, they raise money for the organisation.

The organisation is an alliance between the Washington Humane Society (WHS) and the Washington Animal Rescue League (WARL). The WHS was established in 1870, while WARL was founded in 1914; together, they have served across the capital of the United States for over 100 years. Their main aim is to help people to adopt animals, but they also help to provide financial assistance with veterinary care, assist with behavioural problems, and care for lost, abused or injured animals.

For the organisation’s 30th anniversary, they gathered at the Washington Hilton for another event. This time it was a black-tie masquerade ball, a gala in which all the guests had to dress up for, whether they are of the human or canine variety.
