If you manage to land an internship that pays, even if it’s just travel expenses, you’re on to a winner. So many of us have worked as interns and dealt with the struggle of having to work eight hours a day while having nothing to show for it.

You’d finish your working day, gasping for a beer, but not able to go, as your bank balance is in a bit of an unhealthy way. When I was interning, I also worked at a bar, meaning I was working seven days a week, which included late finishes three times a week… it was tough.
