15 Dec There Was A Subtle Clue Hidden In The White Walkers Marching Formation That Viewers Didn’t Pick Up On
The Game of Thrones finale had us glued to our screens, and, when the end credits rolled, we were devastated that viewers won’t be visiting Westeros again until March 2019! However, what nobody noticed until now was that the show’s producers left an incredible clue in the episode about what we can expect to see in the future.
On the off chance that you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that there’s a long-held fan theory that Bran is the Night King. Observant fans suggested that Bran got too close during the Night King’s initial transformation into a White Walker and ended up becoming the Night King himself.
Whilst a lot of fans refuse to even entertain the theory – deeming it too far-fetched to even be possible – there was one HUGE clue in the season’s finale that suggested it has been true all along. Having intently watched the episode myself, I can’t believe that I missed an easter egg this big…
Aptly titled ‘The Dragon and the Wolf’, the Game of Thrones finale was satisfying. The Stark girls come together to prove the pack really does survive and the leaders of Westeros finally realize who the real enemy is – oh, and let’s not forget that steamy scene between Jon and Daenerys!
My jaw hit the floor at the end of the episode when the wall was obliterated by the Night King’s dragon and the army of the dead began their affront south of the wall. It was the perfect way to end the episode, keeping fans on tenterhooks about the battle that will ensue in the show’s final season.
However, what nobody initially noticed was that the aerial view of the army of the dead formed a very recognizable shape – the dire wolf.
As we all know, the dire wolf is the symbol of House Stark to which Bran belongs. Here’s a photograph of their emblem so that you can compare the shapes for yourself:
There is no way that producers of Game of Thrones would have allowed the army to form that shape by accident. It is a sign that the army of the dead is connected to House Stark in some way, but, most disturbingly, it could suggest once and for all that Bran really is the Night King.
This incredible observation was pointed out by Reddit user sannybob, and fans of the show were quick to say that it was absolute confirmation of this long-held theory.
Whilst there’s no doubt the shape must have meaning, we will not know for sure what it is until the show’s final season. Even if Bran is not the Night King, the battle between the living and the dead is shaping up to be one of the greatest in film and TV history.
