The 45-year-old “People’s Champ”, invited Jacob to the set of his latest film Skyscraper, to celebrate the 10-years-old’s incredible work. But, equally, Jacob had A LOT to thank his hero for.

Jacob, from Roseville, Michigan found his two-year-old brother, Dylan, lying face down in the family swimming pool earlier this year. Without hesitating, he pulled his brothers lifeless body from the pool and laid him on the deck. But, it was what he did next that left people, including The Rock, stunned…

Jacob had watched his favorite film, the 2015 disaster movie San Andreas, starring The Rock, only one week prior to the potentially fatal incident. He copied the scene in which The Rock’s character saves his daughter from drowning in a flood, and began to perform CPR.

“The movie just popped up in my head and I started thinking about that scene,” Jacob told The Washington Post. “And that’s when I started doing the compressions.”

He continued to perform the life saving technique until he felt his brother’s heart “start pumping”. That was when he ran into the house and fetched his grandmother, who had been in another room throughout the whole ordeal. Quickly, their grandmother rushed outside and continued to administer CPR, whilst calling 911.

Upon hearing about the story, The Rock knew that he needed to do something to congratulate Jacob for his heroic behavior. “I gotta shake the hand of a real life 10yr old hero,” he wrote to his 93 million followers on Instagram. But, being The Rock, he decided to do more than simply just shake Jacob’s hand…
