The ‘It’ Sequel Is Set To Be More Terrifying Than You Could Have Possibly Imagined

The movie theatre is a happy place for most. A place where you can escape, relax and enjoy yourself. That is, unless you went to see It, which was released last week.

The horror film, adapted from the iconic book of the same name by Stephen Kingis storming the box office as people clamor to go and watch the creepy clown-themed flick. With extremely positive reviews, it would appear that the supernatural film couldn’t get much better. Except, it can. The sequel is set to really make you scream…

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, director Andy Muschietti, hinted at what was to be expected in the sequel. Which has, naturally, sent fans online into a meltdown. Read on, if you are brave enough…

Muschietti explains that the children from the first film will still feature in the second, however, they will exist in the memories of the Losers Club and will be “a very big part of the action”. Explaining to Entertainment Weekly in more detail, Muschietti divulges:

“On the second movie, that dialogue between timelines will be more present. If we’re telling the story of adults, we are going to have flashbacks that take us back to the ‘80s and inform the story in the present day.”

Muschietti also explains that for the character of Mike Hanlon (played by Chosen Jacobs), things are about to get much darker. Even more so than in King’s famous novel:

“My idea of Mike in the second movie is quite darker from the book. I want to make his character the one pivotal character who brings them all together, but staying in Derry took a toll with him. I want him to be a junkie actually. A librarian junkie. When the second movie starts, he’s a wreck.”
