The Incredible Moment Stranded Soldier Sees His Wife Give Birth On FaceTime

One of the most highly-anticipated experiences in life is becoming a parent. If you chose to bring another life into the world, or adopt a child, there are months of preparation and anticipation involved before the big day finally arrives.

Unfortunately, however, we do not live in an ideal world, and sometimes parents can’t be together for this special moment. This was the case for soldier Brooks Lindsey who missed the birth of his daughter because his flight was delayed.

But he didn’t want to miss out on this special moment, so he decided to watch her birth on FaceTime:

Brooks was traveling from El Paso, Texas, to Brandon, Mississippi, and a woman making the journey with him filmed his incredible reaction to seeing his daughter being born over FaceTime, as featured in the heartwarming video above.

In the video, his eyes are glued to the screen, and, when his daughter is born, he takes a number of deep breaths before crying.

This is what he looked like on the other side of the screen:

“This army soldier was on my delayed flight home yesterday to MS. He had to watch the birth of his daughter on FaceTime. He was crying and our hearts were breaking. We all gave him space. When we heard the baby cry, we all rejoiced for him,” Tracy Dover, the passenger who filmed the incredible moment, wrote on Facebook.

“I wanted to share this because I never want us to forget about our soldiers who serve us every day and the sacrifices they make,” she added.
