22 Jan Teen Keeps Acting Up In Lessons So Dad Comes To Class To Teach Him This Lesson

Parenting is one of the most rewarding jobs in the world. There are few things more beautiful than watching your child grow from a defenseless infant into a well-rounded individual. Of course, parenting is certainly not without its many challenges, and this is especially true once the child has reached his or her teen years.

It’s when they reach adolescence that kids are typically at their most rebellious, and this was certainly the case for Brad Howard, a 17-year-old student from Texas. Brad’s parents received multiple reports from their son’s physics teacher saying that he was misbehaving in class.

“I like to talk a lot, and so my teacher kept emailing my dad about it,” Brad told BuzzFeed News. 

Mr. and Mrs. Howard were seriously at a loss as to how best to approach their son’s unruly behavior in class. They had brought their son up to be confident and to have a mind of his own, but the kid was definitely taking liberties now.

According to Brad’s father (also called Brad), his son “likes to be the life of the party, which gets him in trouble from time to time.” However, Brad Sr. decided that his son had been clowning around in class for far too long and that he needed to be taught a lesson – big time.

So Brad Sr. told his son if he received yet another message from his teacher about his son being overly disruptive in lessons, he would make his next day at school a day he would never forget.

“For some reason, I said, ‘Hey, if we get another call I’m going to show up in school and sit beside you in class,’” Brad Sr. explained. Lo and behold, Brad Jr. continued to act up in lessons, and Brad Sr. was prepared (albeit reluctantly) to make good on his promise.

“Friday is my only day off, so my wife wakes me up and says, ‘Brad, it’s time for you to go to school.’ I thought, Oh no, what have I done?” he said.

Needless to say, Brad Jr. was completely taken aback when he realized that his own father had effectively become an honorary student in one of his classes. “I didn’t even notice him until after I had said hi to all of my friends, but I was super shocked,” he recalled.
