Teachers are often looked upon to be model citizens. After all, they do have a lot of influence over young, developing minds. They are supposed to be strong and firm, yet also kind and compassionate, and of course, they must set a good moral and ethical standard at all times.

However, teachers are human beings and still have lives outside the classroom. So in a world where everyone has a phone in their camera and news spreads like wildfire over the internet, it can be hard to maintain a perfect standard one hundred percent of the time.

Many teachers refrain from using social media or use hidden accounts or accounts with fake names so that pictures from parties or other personal information won’t leak out to students and parents. However, it’s debatable about what exactly is appropriate.

Case in point, one teacher named Viktoria Popova in Omsk, Russia has been fired for simply wearing a one-piece bathing suit. She wasn’t exposed, or behaving provocatively, but simply wearing swimwear. Spending the day at the beach isn’t a crime, so what’s the big deal?
