19 Sep Teacher Brings The Magic Of Harry Potter To Life By Turning His Classroom Into Hogwarts
The Harry Potter series is a sensation. Orphaned by the evil Lord Voldemort as a baby, Harry’s transportation into the magical world of Hogwarts after 11 years living under the tyranny of the Dursleys captured the world’s imagination.
Penned by Scottish author J.K. Rowling in an Edinburgh café, the then penniless 25-year-old single mom had no idea that she’d struck gold when she thought of the idea on a train ride to London back in 1990.
Now children around the world whole-heartedly hope that they will receive a letter from the magical school when they turn eleven years old, and for a lucky group of students in Oregon, that fantasy became a reality.
Their teacher, Kyle Hubler, is a colossal Potterhead (yes, the Harry Potter fandom has a name), and he decided that there was nothing better he could do with his summer than spend 70 hours turning his classroom into Hogwarts.
The lucky 7th grade students knew that they were in for a treat when they arrived back from their summer break and realized that their classroom door had been turned into the infamous Platform 9¾…
Speaking to the Huffington Post about his incredible handiwork, Hubler said, “I love Harry Potter because of the impact it had on me as a kid. Being a kid can be tough sometimes – there were times when I felt weird and that I didn’t belong to any circle of friends, and reading the books was a way to escape that and feel like I did belong.”
Without further ado, here’s what lay behind Platform 9¾…
