At some point or other in our lives, we have probably all been accused of something we haven’t done. It is an unfortunate fact that there are some very morally reprehensible people out there. People who have no qualms about falsely claiming others have committed a wrongdoing when, in fact, this is far from the truth.

One of the very worst things you could be accused of is being a rapist. Indeed, it is universally acknowledged that rape is one of the most heinous crimes that can possibly be committed.

Unfortunately, false rape accusations can and do happen and the effect they have on the falsely accused victims is nothing short of devastating.

Twenty-two-year-old Liam Allan’s world came tumbling down when he was wrongly accused of rape.

Allan, a law student, faced a whopping 20 years in prison after a woman falsely claimed that she was a victim of 12 sex attacks.

He said that he “spent two years living in fear” when news emerged that a case was being built against him despite his protestations of innocence.
