08 May Stomach-Churning MMA Injury Makes Fans “Nearly Vomit”

Popularity for the sport of MMA is at an all-time high, thanks to international trail-blazers like UFC and fighters like Conor McGregor and Ronda Rousey bringing more eyes to the sport.

And as a result of the nature of the combat sport, it has certainly produced some gnarley injuries, but what you’re about to see in the video below is absolutely disgusting. Upon seeing it, one horrified fan said she “nearly vomited”.

Professional MMA fighter, Jack Mason received one of the worst eye injuries in the history of the sport after he took a brutal knee strike to the face.

The gash, which is located just above his left eye, is deep and goes all the way down to his skull.

“That is the worst thing I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s absolutely horrific,” said one shaken fan.

“Is that ever going to heal properly? It’s only going to keep opening up in future surely?” added another.

The shocking incident occurred at Cage Warriors 93 in Gothenburg, Sweden where welterweight Mason had no choice but to suffer a first-round defeat by Hakon Foss.

The fight was called off by referee Marc Goddard upon seeing the blood and gaping wound on Mason’s face.

Mason’s only comment on his injury was a post on Twitter where he simply stated,“Need to learn some knee defense.” Fellow fighter, John Mcguire tweeted that Mas0n’s injury was up there with some of the worst cuts he had ever seen.
