“The people mounted Samantha’s breasts, her legs, and arms. Two fingers were broken. She was heavily soiled,” said Dr. Sergi Santos, the owner, and creator of an intelligent sex robot that was quickly destroyed on a public outing.

Most people would assume that groping a sex robot would be part of the fun of owning such a creation, but according to Santos, Samantha is not to be considered a regular sex doll and must be treated with respect.

Santos says that his $4,000 creation is not a doll, but is an AI. Although she can operate as a sex robot, she is much more than that. She can talk and reacts to human touch. She moans when someone massages her breasts, for example.

Her functionality can also be set to different modes such as family, romantic, animals and philosophy. She can apparently quote philosophers like Hegel on demand. Of course, she can also be set to “nice sex”, “sex”, and “hard sex” modes, too.

Samantha is 5’4″, and is the seventh model of her type. She has blond hair, human-like skin, and bulging breasts. There are ten sensors embedded in her body, including one that creates an interactive G spot and can simulate an orgasm if Samantha is in the mood.

When Santos showcased her in Barcelona, men described Samantha as “beautiful” and having a “nice body”, while one woman asked, “Can she cook?”

According to the manufacturer, Samantha’s default mode is family and all other modes are accessed through this default. Aside from performing sex acts, you can ask her to tell you a joke, inspire you with facts, give you health information, or to just get romantic. Of course, we all know what Samantha will be used for the most!

On Samantha’s first outing at the Arts Electronica Festival in Linz, Santos said that men acted like “barbarians”, and that he had to have her sent back to Barcelona in a package for repairs and cleaning after she was groped by mobs in Barcelona. On an outing in a local mall, Santos says men aggressively groped Samantha’s head and breasts, causing more damage.

“She is not a f*cking toy,” Santos responded when asked about the incident. He complained that his creation had not yet been treated correctly when in public. “People can be bad. Because they did not understand the technology and did not have to pay for it.”

Barcelona is also home to Europe’s first sex doll brothel. The owner, Sergi Preto, claims that he set up the brothel to cater to a man’s every fantasy. However, he says he routinely has to deny requests for rape scenarios, or fantasies involving children.

Apparently the most comment request is for a doll to be dressed in a school girl uniform. Preto assures that his dolls are cleaned and disinfected after each costumer.

Based on previous polling, approximately half of men surveyed would consider having sex with a robot like Samantha. David Levy, Author of Love and Sex With Robots, believes Santos’ creation is just the beginning.

“This coming wave of sex robots will be humanlike in appearance and size. They will have human-like genitals. And they will allow intercourse according to their owner’s sexual orientation and tastes.”

It’s clear she certainly attracts attention, but when male fans of Samantha were asked whether or not they would actually buy such a robot, their responses were mixed. One man said it would be unnatural to own one, while another said he wouldn’t be embarrassed to have his own Samantha because “she looks like a real woman”.

Regardless of what the future holds for the sale of sex robots, newer models better be able to take a little wear and tear from pubic groping (because they’re going to get a lot of it).
