Selena Gomez is one of the biggest stars on the planet, and we just can’t seem to get enough of the stunning starlet! And anyone who’s a big enough fan will know that July 22nd was Selena Gomez’s 26th birthday.

The actress-turned-pop-star celebrated the big day with a few of her closest friends and with some very heartwarming well-wishes from the likes of Taylor Swift, who unfortunately wasn’t able to attend this time around.

However, this celebration has spawned something else for Gomez to celebrate and it has a little (okay, a lot) to do with her Instagram page. Anyone who’s anyone in the celebrity world has to mark their birthday by uploading a snapshot of whatever it is that they get up to on the day and allow their fans to experience at least a small part of it.

Usually, this means posting a series of snaps – or one at the very least – of their big day. Whether they’re sharing photos of them and their fellow showbiz pals or of some of their most extravagant presents, there will always be some form of a post to show just how thankful (and privileged) they are for their lifestyle.

Selena Gomez is one of the biggest superstars out there right now so, of course, she had to post a pic that would leave a long-lasting impression on her devoted army of followers.

In just a couple of days, the post has managed to garner an astonishing nine million likes!

Oh, and the ‘Good For You’ singer only went and broke Beyoncé’s former record of the fastest post to reach one million likes.

You might think you know which pic I’m talking about – the gorgeous pregnancy portrait that she posted back in February 2017.

But actually, 36-year-old broke her own record months later when she shared the first pic of her newborn twins. Queen Bey’s twin reveal photo garnered an impressive 7.8 million likes within just 12 hours.

Gomez, on the other hand, got her first million likes within a mere 13 minutes of publishing a series of shots from her Italian-themed yacht birthday party.

You may remember that before this birthday photo and before Beyoncé’s pregnancy/twin snaps, Gomez had already smashed the record for having the most ‘liked’ pic on Instagram.

I guess, considering Gomez is the most-followed celeb on Instagram with a staggering 139 million followers, it’s not actually that shocking.

Aside from the main photo, the singer posted six other photos of herself and her friends on a yacht in Newport Beach, California.

It probably won’t surprise you to learn that Gomez actually had two birthday parties over the weekend: her yacht party on Sunday and a surprise celebration backstage at an Imagine Dragons concert on Saturday.
