Mysterious sea creatures like the Loch Ness Monster and the Kraken have plagued folklore for centuries. So, when a mysterious mass was spotted floating in the shallows near the idyllic island of Leyte in the Philippenes, people were understandably interested.

Immediately, the decaying corpse of the unidentified creature was hauled in to shore by perplexed authorities, as bystanders watched in awe from the safety of the sand. However, when the peculiar creature was dragged to the shore, the mystery only intensified. What was it?!

The rotting corpse was unceremoniously towed onto a beach in Maasin City, as stunned locals watched with a mixture of curiosity and horror. The 10ft mass was indistinguishable, was it a whale? Or, something more sinister that had been lurking off the coast?

If the locals were mystified, they were even more confused when the authorities failed to identify the giant carcass. Julius Alpino from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources stated that concluding the creatures identity was a challenge, due to the fact that it was so deeply decomposed. However, he suspects it to be a perished whale.
