04 May Russian Woman Stuns Onlookers As She Gives Birth In The Red Sea

There are few things in this world that are more impressive than birth. It may be one of the eldest and most common phenomenon on this planet, but each time it is uniquely different. If you were to research every birth single in history you’d be hard pushed to find two that were exactly the same.

Be it a natural home birth, or a hectic hospital delivery, there is never any way in which you can predict how things will work out. Even the most strategically planned births are subject to considerable change. So when it comes to peculiar birth stories, all parents have one to give.

However, nobody could compete with this Russian mom who gave birth to her baby in the Red Sea in full view of tourists in Egypt.

The remarkable photographs of the incident were captured by Hadia Hosny El Said, who managed to snap them from the balcony of her uncle’s apartment in Dahab, north of Sharm el-Sheikh. Evidently in the right place at the right moment, Hadia was able to capture a sequence of images of the father carrying the newborn baby from the water whilst the mother followed calmly behind in her bikini as if she’d done nothing more than take a relaxing dip.

According to Hadia, the elder gentleman seen carrying the baby from the water is a doctor specializing in water births, which means that the delivery was arranged ahead of time.

Unable to believe what she’d just seen, Hadia uploaded the personal photos to Facebook where they quickly went viral. Attracting 2,000 likes and thousands of comments, it was clear that people across the world were equally as perplexed by what the pictures showed.

The identity of the mother is as of yet unknown, however it would appear from the snaps that both mother and baby were healthy and happy after the unconventional birth.

The baby and the placenta were both carried to the beach where they were welcomed by another child, thought to be the baby’s elder sibling.

Those who saw the images were quick to comment on the beauty of the private moment, which has now become very popular online.

Marveling at the miracle of childbirth, commenters were quick to welcome the baby to the world and celebrate the parent’s unique childbirth plan.

The Red Sea is prominently mentioned in the Bible, and thus it is believed that the parent’s decision to bring the baby into the world whilst bathing in the waters is a religious statement. However, without the confirmation of the mother and father, it is hard to judge their motives.

One thing is for sure, the whole moment makes for an incredible scene! Thankfully the parents had chosen to have a doctor by their side to ensure that the birth was safe and the baby was given the best chance of survival given the unconventional circumstances.

It is certainly different to most expectant couple’s choice to have a baby in a hospital, or at home! Would you give birth in the sea?!
