Rather than battle back and use a PR team to handle the situation, the Good Girl Gone Bad simply took to Instagram to upload a targetted meme to illustrate how she wouldn’t let the media make her feel ashamed for her life choices.

Talking to Vogue to mark her 30th birthday this year, the Grammy Award-winning singer acknowledged her body in true candid style: “You’ve just got to laugh at yourself, honestly. I mean, I know when I’m having a fat day and when I’ve lost weight. I accept all of the bodies. I’m not built like a Victoria’s Secret girl, and I still feel very beautiful and confident in my lingerie.”
