Being a teacher is a hard job, and I am talking from experience. I barely lasted six months in the profession before I chucked my lesson plans and chalk in the bin, vowing to never set foot in a high school again. The stress of staffroom politics and unruly pupils was too much for me to handle.

Teenagers are notoriously difficult to control. In the modern world, kids have less respect than ever for their elders, and there are some pupils who will go out of their way to make sure that teachers know who is really in charge. When I worked as a teacher, there was even an incident involving a firework.

Kids come to school extremely underprepared, and the school I worked in operated on the policy that if the pupil did not have the foresight to do to the bathroom during their lunch break we were not allowed to let them go. But when this teacher refused to lend an unprepared pupil a pen, he had no idea that he was putting a red rag to a bull.

The disgruntled student didn’t just report the teacher or egg his house, but instead researched years of his life through social media and search engines, in order to completely destroy his career, marriage and life…
