As soon as you have a child, a lot of your passions and responsibilities have to be put aside to make way for the incredibly difficult and crucial task of parenting. Looking after a baby or child when you are working to pay the rent is a challenge even for the best multi-taskers.

If you want to go through education – either because you didn’t have a chance before the pregnancy or even because the cost of children requires a level of job you’re simply not qualified for – it’s hard to find the time to balance both parts of your life.

This problem becomes ten times more debilitating when you are a single parent. When you are reliant on paying babysitters or convincing friends and family to look after your child every time you go to a lecture, it is going to be hard to keep your attendance high when you have such a disadvantage compared to the childless students sat around you.

That’s the issue that single mom and university student Morgan King came across when she was unable to make it to her class recently. Lucky for her, she had the best professor in the world.
