A video which reportedly shows a 13-year-old boy marrying his pregnant girlfriend of the same age in China has sparked outrage across the world.

Footage of the marriage hit Chinese media this week, with sources claiming that the teenage bride was five months pregnant when the ceremony took place in Ding’an County, Hainan Province, Southern China, last month.

The video, which first emerged on Chinese streaming service YouKu, has caused controversy on the internet, with many claiming that the couple were too young to look after themselves, let alone a baby.

In the short clip, the newlyweds can be seen wearing red costumes and bowing to each other and their future in-laws while surrounded by their family and friends.

The young girl looks heavily pregnant as she dons a tiara and gold necklace on her wedding day.
