09 Nov Plus-Size Model Shames Victoria’s Secret For Their Lack Of Diversity With Stunning Pictures
When you think of Victoria’s Secret, you think of scantily clad supermodels strutting down the runway at their annual fashion show. With their endlessly long legs and toned tummies, it is hard to believe that they’re real people – maybe that is why they’re called ‘Angels’.
Watching them glide down the catwalk, without so much as a stretch mark, thigh dimple or hair out of place is quite sickening for any ‘regular’ girl. Despite this we watch it intently every year, with a bowl of popcorn washed down with a handful of chocolate buttons. The next day we vow to never so much as look at a carb again, but by lunchtime this promise is forgotten as we tuck into a bowl of cheesy pasta.
It is a yearly ritual that sees downloads of the Calorie Counter app skyrocket. However, that could all be about to change after American plus-size model, Tabria Majors shamed the underwear brand for their failure to represent women of all body types…
The stunning “natural” model made her point in a series of stunning Instagram snaps in which she recreated the Victoria’s Secret adverts in her own unique way. Her aim was to highlight how curvy girls can look equally as sensational in the underwear, and it is safe to say that she achieved that goal.
“Maybe I’ll be a Victoria’s Secret Angel this year for Halloween, since it ain’t happening in real life,” she wrote in the caption on the gorgeous pictures, which have now attracted more than 25,000 likes.
“Just paying homage to a few of my favorite pics/outfits from VS here and showing that curvy girls can rock (and sell) lingerie just as well as straight size model,” she defiantly wrote.
