05 Sep Peter Dinklage Was The Lead Singer Of A 90’s Punk Band And We Have Pictures To Prove It
Game of Thrones and punk rock are not two things that you would expect to see in the same sentence. However, this week it has emerged that Peter Dinklage – better known to fans as Tyrion Lannister – was the lead singer of a punk rock banned called Whizzy in the ’90s. And it’s as epic as it sounds.
Speaking about his punk rock days, Dinklage said, “I was pretty angry back then.”
Dinklage, however, did not just sing in Whizzy, he played the trumpet too. Whilst this revelation might come as a surprise to many fans, Tyrion has not entirely hidden his singing talents since rising to fame as an actor.
In 2015, Dinklage showed off his voice in a Comic Relief sketch, Game of Thrones: The Musical.
What’s more is that Dinklage’s punk rock days left their mark on him, resulting in the distinctive scar that stretches from his neck to his eyebrow. Here’s how it went down one night in the ’90s…
