Flicking through the pages of glossy gossip magazines, it’s easy to believe that the rich and famous have life a little easier than the rest of us. However, what those strategically staged snaps don’t show is the challenges that come hand in hand with fame and fortune.

I know, you’re probably reading this during a brief break from your screaming kids or your monotonous job and thinking ‘are you for real?’. But yes, I am. Being part of the Hollywood elite isn’t all movie premieres, glittering galas, exotic vacations, and designer dresses.

Why? Because no matter your financial status or social standing, there is no immunity from the everyday emotions that all humans experience. Take, for example, dating. It doesn’t matter if your name features on every ‘hot list’ in the world (here’s looking at you, Brad Pitt), you will inevitably feel insecure about the way you look on a first date. And, whilst you may be able to stand on a stage in front of thousands of people, or strip naked in front of a whole camera crew, there is nothing that will get your palms quite as sweaty as asking someone out. It’s just basic human nature.

Of course, celebrities then also have to consider other things during the initial stages of dating, because unlike a regular person, a trip to a local restaurant is strictly off limits unless you want to have paparazzi photographs splashed across Page Six before you’ve finished your entrée. And, discussing the details of your date with a friend is also a risk, because as we all know TMZ love to quote a ‘source’ with close connections to the celebrity in question.

Thus, it’s no wonder that Chris Pratt has been taking things very slowly with his new girlfriend.

It has been a year since Pratt split from Anna Faris, the mother of his six-year-old son, Jack, and his wife of nine years. Their divorce shocked the entertainment industry, where the Guardians of the Galaxy star and Faris had been considered true soulmates.

In true Hollywood style, Pratt was linked to many women after the separation was announced, including Jennifer Lawrence, his co-star in the 2016 film Passengers.

In fact, many fans blamed Lawrence for Pratt and Faris’ demise, claiming that she’d driven a wedge between the happily married couple. But these rumors were publicly shut down by both Faris and Lawrence.

Then came the Olivia Munn incident, in which reports began to circulate that 39-year-old Pratt was dating the Magic Mike actress, who coincidentally happened to be a friend of Faris. Rumors claimed that Faris was furious about the romance, but this was again shut down when Munn denied she was dating Pratt and shared text messages from Faris which stated that she was supportive if Munn was indeed dating Pratt, even though she wasn’t.

However, despite a packed schedule which includes filming part two of Avengers: Infinity War and promoting his latest film, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Pratt has managed to secure a steady relationship with 28-year-old Katherine Schwarzenegger.

Of course, Pratt may be a movie star with many big credits to his name, but Katherine is Hollywood royalty by birth. The eldest child of action hero Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Schriver, and the fact she is also the niece of former US President, John F. Kennedy, it’s safe to say that Katherine isn’t new to the fame game. However, she may not have been anticipating the interest that her relationship with Pratt would garner.

It was first revealed that the duo were dating back in June when they were spotted enjoying a romantic picnic in Santa Barbara, California.

However, they took their relationship to the next level recently when they were photographed kissing whilst enjoying frozen yogurt after taking Pratt’s son to church.

Immediately, fans took to Twitter to offer mixed emotions on the romance. Some even went as far as to claim that Pratt is way out of his league with the brunette beauty who is 11 years his junior.

According to a source who spoke to People, Katherine and Pratt met after being set up by her mother, Maria, the former First Lady of California.

It’s not the first high-profile relationship for the Schwarzenegger offspring as Katherine’s younger brother, Patrick, famously dated Miley Cyrus for six months in 2015. The 24-year-old model was also rumored to have briefly dated supermodel Gigi Hadid after they both featured in a Tom Ford Eyewear campaign together in 2014.

So, there you have it. Could Pratt and Katherine’s relationship see Arnie come out of semi-retirement to feature in a new kick-ass action film alongside his potential son-in-law? Maybe the Hollywood heavyweight will cameo in Jurassic World 3 which is set for release in 2022. Watch this space!
