20 Jul Paris Jackson Shows Off New Tattoos In Provocative MJ-Inspired Footwear Campaign

Nearly a decade after his unexpected and hugely tragic death in 2009, there is absolutely no denying that the late Michael Jackson has gone down as one of the greats. Aside from the fact that the megastar was an insanely talented performer, he was also as extraordinarily unique as it gets in the music industry.

There is no one, living or dead, who can compare to the man we all know as the King of Pop. I’m talking everything from his soft-spoken and gentle nature to his penchant for all things out of the ordinary – let’s not forget that this was a man who used to hang around with a chimp called Bubbles.

He was known for continually pushing boundaries as any world-class artist should. And a lot of this experimentation and boundary-pushing occurred during Michael’s unforgettable Thriller era. Releasing his Thriller album in 1982, marked a drastic new change for him.

Although it wasn’t Michael’s first solo album, it really showed the world that he’d truly parted ways with the adolescent image attached to him from his time in the Jackson 5.

Not to mention it’s the best-selling album of all time, having sold at least 65 million copies worldwide (and possibly more than 100 million if you count unauthorized versions.)

It was also a time when Michael experimented with all kinds of different styles. For instance, there was the single white glove he was known for wearing and those sequined army jackets.

And who could forget the biggest single of the entire album, aptly named ‘Thriller’? Not only was the song incredible, but its music video was an experience, to say the least.

In the 14-minute video, Michael, along with the cast, pull off an entertaining horror-themed performance. It ended up being one of the biggest if not the biggest music videos of his entire career.

And yes, the red and black leather jacket, with the winged shoulders, that Michael wore in the video was nothing short of iconic.

But one fashion detail you may have missed was the black G.H. Bass & Co Weejun penny loafers he was wearing. I mean, it’s hardly a notable addition, amongst all the prosthetics and zombie costumes.

But 35 years on, the loafers are now taking center stage in a fashion campaign featuring none other than Paris Jackson, AKA Michael’s only daughter.

In a new campaign for G.H. Bass & Co’s collaboration with RE/Done, Paris is seen sporting a pair of the Weejun loafers. But while her father wore his own pair on his feet, the most provocative snaps from Paris’ shoot feature her using the shoes as a sort of makeshift bra.

The campaign, shot by Juergen Teller, includes shots of Paris with a single, leopard-print loafer laid across her chest.

And in another, she is pictured sticking her tongue out while covering her breasts with two black croc-embossed loafers.

The revealing shoot also showed off several of Paris 50-plus tattoos, including the Mötley Crüe-inspired snake on her right arm and the chakra symbols that run down her chest.

Of course, the risque nature of the shoot is hardly a shocker considering Paris is a model, who like her late father, is known for pushing boundaries as far as fashion is concerned. But while her dad was renowned for the clothes he wore, for Paris, it’s more about the clothes she doesn’t wear.

The 20-year-old has often emphasized the fact that she is totally comfortable with nudity. In fact, in an Instagram post from 2017, in which she can be seen sitting topless, she defended her choice to embrace nudity:

“I’ll say it again for those questioning what I stand for and how I express myself. nudity started as a movement for ‘going back to nature’, ‘expressing freedom’, ‘being healthier’ and was even called a philosophy. being naked is part of what makes us human.”

“For me it helps me feel more connected to mama gaia. I’m usually naked when I garden. it’s actually a beautiful thing and you don’t have to make it sexual the way many Hollywood stars (and the media) do. not only is your body a temple and should be worshipped as so, but also part of feminism is being able to express yourself in your own way, whether it’s being conservative and wearing lots of clothes or showing yourself.”

“There’s different ways of absorbing mother earth’s energy, my favorites are earthing which is absorbing the earths vibrations from contact between the soil and your bare feet, as well as letting your naked skin absorb the rays of the sun. the human body is a beautiful thing and no matter what “flaws” you have, whether it be scars, or extra weight, stretch marks, freckles, whatever, it is beautiful and you should express yourself however you feel comfortable.”

“If this makes some of you upset I completely understand and I encourage you to maybe no longer follow me, but I cannot apologize for this in any way. it is who I am and I refuse to shy away and keep my beliefs a secret.”

“Everyone as an opinion and every one has their beliefs. we don’t always agree with one another and that’s okay. but again, we are all human, and to appreciate the things that other people do that make us human helps us feel connected. how can that be a bad thing?”
