17 Jul Parents Tell Police About R. Kelly Holding Women Against Their Will In ‘Cult’
An explosive new Buzzfeed investigation has claimed that singer R Kelly is holding young girls prisoner in a sex-obsessed, abusive “cult”.
Three unidentified sets of parents allegedly spoke to Buzzfeed about their belief that their daughters are being held against their will at Kelly’s rental properties in Chicago and Atlanta.
According to their accounts, the young women are subjected to emotional abuse by the 50-year-old who dictates “what they eat, how they dress, when they bathe, where they sleep and how they engage in sexual encounters that he records”.
The new report claims that the young women met the singer after their parents brought them to him in the hopes that he could help them further their music careers.
However, according to the parents interviewed by Buzzfeed, the I Believe I Can Fly star instead “brainwashed” them and made them “prisoners” and, in many cases, the women have now cut off all communication with their families. Despite this, when some of the parents contacted the police, the young women claimed they were free to leave at any time.
However, three former members of Kelly’s inner circle – Cheryl Mack, Kitti Jones, and Asante McGee – reportedly provided details which backed up the parents’ claims, with two of them stating that Kelly controlled their phones and social media use at the time – leaving little documentation of this time in their lives.
