Nurse’s Son Posts Brilliant Response To People Who Criticize His Mom For Having Tattoos

Our society has made leaps and bounds in the long and rocky journey toward true equality in the workplace.

Despite this emollient truth, it is a sad fact that we still have some distance left to walk. Just as we begin to pat ourselves on the back and tentatively believe that the fight against ill-conceived prejudice is won, new stories surface that fly in the face of such optimistic fiction.

Perhaps part of the problem is the many faces that such intolerance wears. Women in our modern culture still – generally speaking – face a regrettable pay gap that surely has no place in a forward-thinking environment, while personal appearance still informs deep-rooted prejudices that are had to shake.

One nurse’s son, though, is doing his utmost to point out the flaws in such thinking. Logically speaking, whether an individual has tattoos or not should not impinge or their ability – or anyone else’s ideas over that ability – to do a job effectively. In spite of this, some still have outmoded preconceptions over the “type” of person who would get a tattoo – patently nonsense – and hold prejudices that have no bearing on modern reality.

Jordan Miller, son of nurse Misti Johnson, has a few things to say on the matter.
