Newly Engaged Couple Are Savagely Trolled For “Smallest Ring Ever Made”

Getting engaged is one of the biggest moments a couple will share. It’s a simple question and answer that symbolizes that a couple are ready to fully commit to each other and spend the rest of their lives together. And because everybody loves love, it’s very easy to get all wrapped up in the celebration of two strangers getting engaged.

For example, YouTube personalities Jen Phanomrat and Leo Samanamud, who run the popular channel Just Eat Life, recently got engaged. The couple had been together for nine years and finally decided to make things official with an engagement announcement on Instagram.

Many of their fans were saying it was about time because it’s obvious to anyone who’s ever seen their channel that they are adorable together. Check them out below in one of their videos:

However, in what should have been a happy moment for the pair shared with their fans, many followers decided to mock Jen and Leo and it all has to do with the size of her engagement ring. The ring is very delicate, consisting only of a thin gold band and a small pearl (Pictured below.)

“It just seems like he went into the store like ‘show the smallest ring ever made,’” one commenter said. Another added, “It must suck to wait 9 years for a ring that look like that.”

Jen admitted that she’s used to receiving her share of online comments, but didn’t expect an outpouring of hate over her engagement.

“I’ve always been an advocate for women supporting women, so I was shocked to see so many females wasting their time replying to each other to dampen our happy moment,” she said. “I don’t usually wear any jewellery, but when I do, it’s simple and minimal.”

“What mattered to me the most was the tiny detail on the inside of the ring. He asked the ring maker to inscribe the initials of our nicknames for each other. I swear I thought I was floating in the air when he pointed it out. My heart smiles every time I see it,” Jen gushed to Yahoo.

Despite the fact that Jen and Leo are over the moon, their fans still aren’t sharing in their happiness. Many commenters are asking, “Where’s the ring?” and “Are you getting a diamond at the wedding?” One troll even suggested that Jen shouldn’t marry Leo for waiting nine years to get a ring so small.

However, not everyone is a hater and Jen and Leo still have plenty of supporters. Many commenters are pointing out that it’s love and fidelity that matters most, not the size of the ring.

“It’s not about the size of the ring. Honestly, you have some women out here with rocks the size of their fn heads meanwhile their significant other is doing all kinds of dirty. Blessings!” wrote one fan of the couple.

“That’s a beautiful ring! Jealous losers always hate when they see someone who’s happy. Congratulations!” said another.

While Jen and Leo are incredibly happy, the amount of controversy over their engagement announcement photo has led them to make a statement letting everyone know that they don’t care about material wealth, only sharing experiences together and living a happy life.

They said, “We encourage others to think about how they measure value in life. We made it our priority to travel around the world, eat bucket list foods, and experience dream adventures together. That’s all we’ve ever wanted and will continue to do, ring or no ring.”

Isn’t that the truth?

And for the moment you’ve all been waiting for, here is Jen’s new engagement ring:

Sure, it’s not the iceberg that sank the Titanic, but an engagement ring is a symbol of love and commitment – and you simple can’t put a price on that!

We wish them all the best!
