New York Restaurant Forced To Fire Employee After They Used Racial Slur On Customer’s Receipt

In the modern world, many people live under the false illusion that total quality has been achieved – everyone is the same regardless of their gender, sexual orientation or the color of their skin. But that is sadly not the case. There are still some individuals who hold prejudices against entire nationalities.

Whilst some prejudices can rear their ugly heads in tense situations, such as when two people of differing nationalities get into a spat with each other, there are some which come to the fore without being provoked, and that is what makes this incident which took place in New York all the more deplorable.

A female customer went to the Cornerstone Cafe and ordered steak and eggs to go on August 16, 2017. However, after receiving her food and receipt, she noticed that the server, who has only been identified as “Rubi”, had used a racial slur as her name because she was Asian.

The woman went home and showed her daughter the offensive receipt, and her daughter shared it with her friend, Ziggy Chau. Chau then shared an image on Facebook of the receipt, encouraging people to boycott the restaurant, and it quickly went viral…
