Condoms are supposed to make having fun safer, right? As long as you put it on your penis, that is. Turns out teens are now snorting them up their noses in the latest “condom challenge” craze.

The idea is to snort the condom up your nose and pull it out of your mouth. If this sounds disgusting to you, that’s because it is. While I’m all for getting teenagers to use condoms, this is just plain stupid.

It’s also really dangerous. “The condom could easily get stuck in your nose or your throat, blocking your breathing or causing you to choke,” said Dr. Bruce Y. Lee, an associate professor of international health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

There have already been several cases of serious medical issues caused by inhaling a condom. Case in point, it was reported that in India a 27-year-old woman developed pneumonia and suffered a collapsed lung after accidentally inhaling one.

Teens are uploading videos of themselves attempting the challenge on social media, so the disgusting stunt will forever remain on the internet for future employers and partners to see. Personally, I wouldn’t hire someone who boasts about snorting condoms, would you?
